Welcome to the Web-site of
Mary Queen of Peace Parish in Shively Kentucky.
Mary Queen of Peace was
established on Jan. 1, 2009 combining the parishes
of St. Basil, St. Denis, St. Helen and St. Matthias.
We are currently using the Churches located at the
St. Denis Campus located at 4205 Cane Run Road and
St. Helen Campus located at 4005 Dixie Highway. The
churches at St. Basil and St. Matthias are no longer
in use.
The founding of this new parish
is the result of the Archdiocesan Reorganization
Plan. The culmination of this portion of the plan
will be in June of 2010 when the main worship space
will be located at the St. Helen Campus. The main
business office is at the St. Helen Campus but we
are also maintaining a site office on the St. Denis
Campus.
The sacramental records for the
parishes of St. Basil and St. Denis are housed at
the site office on the St. Denis Campus. The records
for the parishes of St. Helen, St. Matthias and Mary
Queen of Peace are at the St. Helen Campus.
Building on the traditions of
St. Basil, St. Denis, St. Helen and St. Matthias
this parish was established to meet the sacramental,
spiritual, physical and educational needs of the
people of this area.
